Freaky Friday Week #1

Shhhhh...don't tell!  I'm attending my uplines' (Diana Gibbs & Rhonda Morgan's) Fall Fest tomorrow and I thought I'd share my Swaps, Name Tag and gifts (for my friends) today.  I'm just hoping none of them check my blog before then.  tee hee

The theme for the swaps is Fall or Christmas AND since I LOVE LOVE LOVE crafting for Halloween, that's what I did!  Plus, every Friday 'til Halloween, I'm going to post a Halloween themed project!  So, be sure to check back each Friday, if you dare!

Check out my swaps!  Pretty Wicked, eh!?!

My name tag.  It's interactive, too!  Anyone need a paperclip?  :oP

And, my Top Note Owl, toooo cute, don't ya think!?!
Of course, I had to include my
Sweet & Korny carmel corn in there somehow.
I hope they like it!

Easy...Vintage...Christmas

I know Christmas is a few months away but if you find you need an easy, vintage-y, Christmas card, this one is perfect!  All you need is a card base, a strip of background paper and co-ordinating card stock and some ribbon.  Then, stamp your saying and add a little bling and you're set!

If you want to distress it a little, sponge some Crumb Cake ink on the edges and spritz Cherry Cobbler, with the Color Spritzer Tool, to finish it up.  Have fun!

WWYD Wednesday

My friend Michelle wanted to do a WWYD/Shoebox Swap for her Birthday, this past weekend. There were 4 of us that attended and it was lots of fun! I loved this idea!

Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera so I didn't get pics of the supplies each person brought for their WWYD/Swap card or what everyone else created.  Bummer!  But, here are the cards I created.

I love WWYD cards because there aren't any expectations and you just create what comes to you at that moment.

This is the Candy Bouquet I made for Michelle.  Hope she liked it!

Monogram Tag 4 Teacher

I LOVE making personalized gifts and the best and easiest way to do that is with either the receivers initial or name.  I used both to make this tag for Shaylin's teacher, Mrs. Elizondo.

I'm on a roll now, 2 gifts to her teacher in 2 weeks, lets just see how long I can keep it going!  I love to spoil the girls teachers, I just hope they like home made items.  :o)  I was able to get away with it with Keara up until 6th grade.  But, for 7th and now 8th grade, she has more teachers and she gets embarrassed.  So, I just let her know that all she has to do is say the word and I can whip something up for one or all of her teachers.  She has taken me up on it, on a few occasions but not as much as I would like.

This is just a quick tag that would be great for a gift bag, hanging on a hook, anything really!

Soooo simple to make!  I ran a piece of chipboard and background paper scrap thru the Big Shot and the Serif Essentials Alphabet die (retired).  Glued them together.  Then, a Melon Mambo scrap thru the Big Shot and the Floral Fusion Die and made my scrunched flower, with a Rhinestone Jewel, to embellish the *E*.  I also printed out her name on the computer and cut it out.  Added some black twine and ta-da!  Hope she likes it!

Admit One

My girls and I get to the movies every so often and I always try to keep the ticket stubs.  Do any of you do that?  Is that weird?  Anyway, I found this cute idea on Pinterest HERE but when I went to the site, there weren't any directions.  I LOVE figuring out how something is made and putting my own twist on it.  So, this was a fun challenge for me!

I always try to have frames on hand because they are so versatile and you never know when you're going to need one.  I have found some great ones at the Dollar Store over the years.  And, I just happened to have a 5" x 7" shadowbox from there.  I thought it would be perfect for my movie tickets.

This is my completed project.  I LOVE IT!  Now my wallet is void of all those random movie tickets and they are out where we can see them and reminisce on our movie adventures.

This is how it looked before I started.

I sanded all of the edges of the frame.

Then, I added Basic Grey and Soft Suede Stampin' Up! ink in layers with a sponge and also, directly swiped the ink pad on the frame in places.

I attached the background paper (retired Stampin' Up! background paper) to the inside of the back piece of the frame with glue dots.  Then, I made my *admit one* tag and used my Crop-a-dile, punching overlapping holes, to make a slit along the top.  I had to make sure it was wide enough for me to slip the tickets through.

Ignore the upside down *admit one*.  I boo boo'd and flipped it over and stamped the one I used on the other side.  I just wanted to show you how I attached the pieces of Dimensionals.  I attached it to the background paper so that the dimensionals would sit above the slit.  Does double duty, covers the unsightly opening and gives it a little dimension.

Here it is all distressed and almost done.

Of course, I had to add a scrunched flower and don't forget the ticket stubs!
